Paola Rampone Sprovieri ist künstlerisch mit dem amerikanischen Tanz der 80er Jahre aufgewachsen. Obwohl sie mit Ballet begann, richtete sich ihre Aufmerksamkeit rasch auf den zeitgenössischen Tanz. Nach Training mit den amerkanischen Meistern Merce Cunningham, Alvin Nikolais, Trisha Brown und Steve Paxton unternahm sie ihre eigenen Tanzstudien, unterstützt von der jungen New Yorker Choreografen-Generation, wie Tere O’Connor, Susan Rethorst und Sarah Skaggs, mit der sie während ihres Aufenthaltes in New York von 1985 bis 1988 arbeitete. Zurück in Italien, nach Zusammenarbeiten mit Enzo Cosmi und Cornelia Wildisen, gründete sie ihre eigene Tanzkompagnie Entr’acte. Ihre Arbeit ist durch zwei wesentliche Aspekte gekennzeichnet: das Interesse am Studium der Bewegung, d.h. physischer Bewegung und Energie, und das Verhältnis von Tanz und Kunst, ein dialektisches Verhältnis, in dem das Kunstwerk zu etwas Greifbarem wird, das mit Choreografie und Bewegung zusammenarbeitet. 1996 wurde Paola Rampone von der Fondazione RomaEuropa und dem Hebbel-Theater Berlin zu einer Koproduktion für das Choreografie-Projekt ”L’ombra dentro la pietra” eingeladen. Im selben Jahr organisierte sie in Latina, Italien, ein Tanzfestival, das im Rahmen einer größeren Veranstaltung, ”Radar”, präsentiert wurde, die der Kunstkritiker Achille Bonito Oliva begelitete. Von 1993 bis 1994 tanzte sie mit Francesca Lattuada’s Kompagnie in Paris. Seit 1989 lehrt Paola Rampone in Italien. Paola Rampone Sprovieri has grown up artistically on American dance of the eighties. Although she started off with ballet, she soon shifted her attention to contemporary dance. After due training with the Amercian masters Merce Cunningham, Alvin Nikolais, Trisha Brown and Steve Paxton, she undertook her own study on dance, receiving support from the young generation of New York choreographers, such as Tere O’Connor, Susan Rethorst and Sarah Skaggs with whom she worked during her stay in New York, 1985-1988. Back in Italy, after having worked with Enzo Cosimi and Cornelia Wildisen, she formed her own company Entr’acte. Her work is characterized by two foundamental aspects: the interest on focussing her study on movement, that is to say physical movement and energy, and the relationship between dance and art, a dialectical relationship which transforms the art object into something tangible that interacts with the choreography and movement. In 1996 Paola Rampone obtained a co-production from the Fondazione RomaEuropa and the Hebbel-Theater Berlin for the choreographic project ”L’ombra dentro la pietra”. In the same year she organized in Latina a Dance Festival that was presented in the context of a larger art event ”Radar” attended by the art critic Achille Bonito Oliva. From 1993 to 1994 she danced with Francesca Lattuada’s company in Paris. Since 1989 Paola Rampone is also involved in teaching in Italy.  |
